FAQ

Do eyelash extensions damage my natural eyelashes?

This is by far the most common question asked in the industry. Luckily you’ve come to the right place because we are very particular about the health of our clients natural lashes. We do not place anything on the lash that we know will damage it overtime. When an extension is not too heavy or long for a clients natural lash, the natural lash cycle will shed as normal. Refills are only possible if there is new growth. Therefore, if lash extensions caused your natural lashes to stop growing we would have no business. Keep in mind that cluster lashes, or lash tabs, commonly found a nail salons or heavily discounted lash salons WILL cause damage to natural lashes. These lashes are too heavy, use too much glue and are not isolated one by one. Those are typically applied to the skin or on top of the lash line causing natural lashes to be stuck together and unable to shed properly. Steer clear of these “lash extensions”!

How do I care for them?

Prior to your departure from our salon you will be given a pamphlet explaining in detail how to properly care for your lash extensions or lash lift. In general it is important to clean your lashes EVERY day. Even if you are not wearing eye makeup, it’s important to remove all oils and dirt off of your lashes. Sleeping on your back, wearing lash extension safe makeup and avoiding products with oil in them will extend the life of your extensions.

How long do they last?

You can wear lash extensions the rest of your life with proper aftercare and maintenance. Refills are recommended every 2-4 weeks.

Since there is a single lash or volume fan placed on one natural lash it will only last as long as it’s life cycle. When your natural lash sheds it takes the extension with it. Typically you lose between 1-5 natural lashes every single day. During your refill appointment we will place a new extension to your new growth. There are many factors that effect the time between refills such as medications, hormones, exercise frequency, products used and how well you follow your aftercare instructions.

What is the difference between Classic and Volume Eyelash Extensions?

Classic Lash Extensions are the traditional method of applying one extension to one natural eyelash. Classic extensions mimic the look of mascara without the clumps. They are great for adding length to an already full lash line. The overall outcome depends completely on the clients natural lashes as we can only apply one by one to what you naturally have.

Volume techniques have slowly made their way into the industry due to the fact that it is a very difficult method to learn and perform. There aren’t many salons in Houston that are performing the technique properly. They create density and fullness because each fan is handcrafted to fit the clients natural lash line. This is a revolutionary technique because we can now add fullness to lashes that were gappy or thin in the past. Volume lashes can mimic natural lashes or a strip lash. It all depends on how dramatic you want the end result to be.
